Program Goal
ArtReach Toronto aims to support meaningful engagement of Toronto youth, who have experienced and/or are experiencing exclusion through active participation in quality arts opportunities.
ArtReach Toronto will support projects that:
• Encourage creative expression through quality arts opportunities
• Foster meaningful youth engagement in project design, implementation and evaluation.
Project Eligibility
What kinds of projects will be funded?
ArtReach Toronto wishes to support innovative youth projects that may not be supported elsewhere. ArtReach is about access, reducing barriers and increasing opportunities for youth and other active and interested organizations, individual artists and collectives to create or continue quality arts opportunities, projects or programming.
To be eligible for funding, projects must have all of the following key features:
• Increase access to quality arts opportunities that encourage creative expression and involve meaningful engagement of youth (ages 13 – 29) in Toronto
• Promote social inclusion and provide opportunities for youth to develop leadership skills, capacity and opportunities within their communities
• Provide opportunities for youth to benefit from both the intrinsic (e.g. personal enjoyment, creative expression) and instrumental value (e.g. community engagement, skills development, social change) of the arts
•Involve youth in project development, implementation and evaluation
• Involve artist(s) with relevant experience and reach into participating communities.
Priority will be given to the following projects:
• Projects involving youth living in one or more of the under-served communities of Toronto
• Projects from youth-led organizations.
Funds Available
• Nonprofit or charitable (incorporated) organizations can apply for up to $25,000 per year.
• Individual artists, groups of artists and unincorporated organizations may apply for grants up to a maximum of $10,000 per year.
Who Can Apply?
• Not-for-profit youth-led organizations or collectives (where majority of decision-making rests with youth)
• Not-for-profit organizations or collectives able to demonstrate a high degree of youth engagement
• Individual artists leading new or existing projects for youth
• Group of artists leading new or existing projects for youth
Funding priority will be given to projects from youth-led organizations and groups. Applications from unincorporated, not-for-profit organizations / groups are welcome. |
